He wants Marcel to take back New Orleans from the Mikaelsons. He gives him the same serum that Lucien took. Later, Vincent stops his allegiance with Freya. He tells them that they are not his family anymore. Klaus and Elijah try to talk to Marcel, but he wants nothing to do with them. Kol deals with his grief by killing Van, and giving into his dark side. Marcel screams at Kol about him being stupid to trust the Mikaelsons. They kill Lucien.īack at the Mikaelson estate, Vincent, Kol, and Marcel try to resurrect Davina but it is too late. Lucien gets the upper hand in his battle with Klaus, until Freya and Elijah strip him of his powers. They immediately grab Davina and finish their plans to shred her soul. They hold down Marcel, and then Freya puts Davina back with the Ancestors. Prior to this, Freya and Elijah make the decision to use Davina to channel the Ancestors’ magic. Meanwhile, Marcel, Vincent, and Kol kidnap Van to force him to perform a spell to resurrect Davina. Hayley and Klaus go to the Bayou to retrieve Rebekah’s body, which leads to a showdown between Lucien and Klaus. Lucien wants to threaten Rebekah to force Klaus out of hiding. as the new Regent, Van Nguyen works for Lucien. He tells them to find another way, because he doesn’t want to lose Marcel and Kol’s loyalty. However, it would break the circle, which puts Davina back in jeopardy. The plan to resurrect Davina hits a snag when Freya realizes that she can channel the Ancestors magic through Davina. Davina is safe as long as she remains in the protective circle. If the Ancestors succeed in shredding her soul, she will no longer be able to return to the world of the living. Kol tells her that the Ancestors tried this on him, but his soul was too damaged for it to work. Prior to getting Freya on board, Vincent tells her that the only way to reverse Lucien’s powers would be to channel the Ancestors magic.įreya manages to save Davina from the Ancestors, right before they try to rip her soul to shreds. She needs to channel an Original for the spell, but cannot use Kol because he’s still compromised by the Ancestors. Kol and Marcel get Vincent on board, and then they seek out Freya’s help. He briefly pushes back his hatred and grief to start a plan to resurrect her. Unfortunately, unless you are a Mikaelson child (except Finn, and maybe Kol), you can pretty much expect to die on The Originals. It also put another one of our favorites in jeopardy. Tonight’s episode killed yet another character that we loved. We love The Originals, but boy have we dreaded each episode for the last three weeks. However, it has been utterly depressing to watch. The Originals has been at the top of its game these last four or five weeks.
